We’re hiring an experienced Hostel Manager to lead two supported housing services in Derby – Newstead House and Centenary House. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a homelessness services management role where you’ll provide leadership, operational oversight, and support to vulnerable adults and women at risk.

What You’ll Be Doing

As Hostel Manager, you’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of two supported housing services in Derby:

• Operational Management: Oversee rotas, staffing, budgets, procurement, and compliance with housing and health & safety regulations.

• Team Leadership: Line-manage a team of around 15 staff, ensuring recruitment, supervision, performance, and professional development.

• Resident Support: Promote a safe, respectful environment, resolve disputes, and enforce hostel rules.

• Crisis Management: Respond effectively to incidents, risks, and emergencies.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with local authorities, referral partners, outreach services, and emergency teams.

• Performance Reporting: Provide updates on KPIs, incidents, and key operational data to senior management.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a Hostel Manager, Supported Housing Manager, or Homelessness Services Manager.

• Strong leadership and team management skills, including rota planning and supervision.

• Knowledge of housing regulations, compliance standards, and health & safety.

• Background in supporting vulnerable adults with complex needs (non-care capacity).

• Excellent decision-making, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Confident with Microsoft Office and rota/scheduling systems.
