Service Manager – Supported Housing & Accommodation
We’re hiring a Service Manager (Supported Housing & Accommodation) to lead two vital services in Swindon: Booker House (for adults with learning disabilities) and Swindon Young Parents Accommodation (tailored support for young parents).

This role is perfect for a confident and compassionate leader with a strong background in people management, housing support, and supported accommodation services. You’ll play a key role in rebuilding morale, motivating staff, and ensuring high-quality housing and support services that put customers first.

What You’ll Be Doing
As Service Manager, you’ll oversee daily operations, staff leadership, and service quality across both schemes:
- Lead, motivate, and support staff teams – rebuilding morale and creating a positive, high-performing culture.
- Provide regular 1:1s, supervision, and reflective practice sessions to support staff wellbeing and development.
- Recruit, induct, and train colleagues to deliver high standards of housing-related and person-centred support.
- Oversee rota management, performance reviews, and compliance with regulatory frameworks.
- Manage housing operations: voids, allocations, tenancy sustainment, income management, and responsive repairs.
- Ensure safe service delivery, including safeguarding, health & safety, and risk management.
- Promote trauma-informed, person-centred approaches that empower residents to achieve their goals.
- Build effective partnerships with stakeholders, housing providers, and local agencies to enhance move-on pathways and community connections.
- Monitor budgets, produce reports, and ensure services meet contractual performance targets and KPIs.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in supported housing, supported accommodation, or homelessness prevention services.
- Proven people management skills, ideally leading teams through change or challenge.
- Strong background supporting individuals with learning disabilities, young parents, and/or complex needs.
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills, with a calm and consistent leadership style.
- Resilient, organised, and confident in managing competing priorities across multiple sites.
- Competent IT skills for report writing, case management, and compliance tracking.
- Knowledge of tenancy sustainment, income maximisation, and housing systems.
- (Desirable) Financial/budgetary experience and a relevant housing, care, or support qualification.
Bonus if You Drive
Travel is required between Booker House and Swindon Young Parents Accommodation, so a driving licence is desirable.
