As a Mental Health Support Worker, you know that sometimes it’s the small things that make the biggest difference – building trust, listening when someone needs it and helping people feel safe and supported.
NursLink is looking for experienced Mental Health Support Workers to support service users at Priory Hospital Woking, working alongside experienced nurses and healthcare professionals in a specialist mental health environment.
Whether you’re looking to pick up additional shifts, build your experience or find agency work that fits around your availability, this role gives you the flexibility to choose shifts that work for you.
The shifts?
Flexible day and night shifts are available, so you can build your agency work around your existing commitments.
The pay?
£14.50 per hour, with the support of a dedicated NursLink booking consultant. You’ll also have the opportunity to build valuable experience within a specialist mental health hospital and work as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.
What you’ll be doing:
- Building positive, professional relationships with service users based on trust and respect
- Providing emotional support and encouraging independence
- Supporting people throughout their recovery and day-to-day wellbeing
- Assisting with personal care where required
- Promoting dignity and person-centred care
- Working closely with nurses and the wider clinical team
- Helping to maintain a safe, supportive and therapeutic environment
- Recognising when someone may need additional support and communicating this to the appropriate team member
What we’re looking for:
- At least 1 year’s experience as a Mental Health Support Worker in the UK
- A caring, resilient and professional approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine interest in supporting people with mental health needs
- A clear DBS on the Update Service
- Valid Mandatory Training certificates, including Safeguarding Adults & Children
- Valid PMVA Certificate
