Are you an experienced Caretaker, Facilities Coordinator, Handyman, or Maintenance professional who enjoys taking a hands-on approach to building operations?
This is a practical, site-based role where you’ll play a key part in maintaining a safe, compliant, and well-managed building. Acting as the manager’s eyes and ears on site, you’ll identify issues, monitor standards, liaise with tenants and contractors, and help ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the facility.
This is not a traditional facilities administration or reception-based role. We’re looking for someone who is proactive, observant, and comfortable working throughout all areas of a building.

Location: On-site – Arlington, 220 Arlington Road, London, NW1 7HE
Pay Rate: £16.48 per hour
Hours: 9am-5pm / 8am-4pm

What You’ll Be Doing
As the Facilities Coordinator, you’ll support the day-to-day operation of the building by carrying out inspections, maintaining records, and ensuring issues are identified and addressed promptly.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining health and safety logs and fire safety records
- Monitoring communal areas and identifying health and safety risks
- Acting as the manager’s eyes and ears on site
- Liaising with tenants and responding to issues raised
- Following up on completed maintenance and contractor works
- Conducting building audits, including storage and equipment checks
- Reporting and escalating issues appropriately
- Coordinating with contractors and suppliers
- Supporting compliance and operational standards across the building
You’ll be expected to work throughout all areas of the building, including plant rooms, boiler rooms, electrical service areas, and other operational spaces.

We’re looking for a practical and proactive individual who is comfortable assessing situations independently and communicating effectively with contractors and colleagues.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in a supervisory Caretaker, Handyman, Facilities, or Maintenance role
- Hands-on approach to building operations and maintenance
- Ability to identify issues and take appropriate action
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Confidence working independently and using initiative
- Comfortable working across all areas of a building environment
Desirable Experience
- Basic Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) knowledge
- IOSH qualification or equivalent health and safety awareness
- Experience working within facilities management or building operations
- Experience liaising with contractors and understanding maintenance works
- Knowledge of health and safety compliance and inspections
